Final line up

Studio diary wee 7

Project Diary -week 7
This week I started toiling  working on the fit for my leather structure is vital. I have also started lazor cutting the shapes for the leather panels.
I have also ordered magnet strips for all my fastening and have also started testing photo-chromic dyes onto white fabrics.
But this week I many focused on my magazine. “SENSOR MAG” which will be an art magazine of my previous work along side interviews with models and people within the design industry.
This week I focused on the meaning behind my magazine by exploring my manifesto and what ” A creative addict needs no cure ” really means -the project was to create a poster- so…
Throughout a fortnight I left my society a blank canvase, a white wall. Something the public could create ,to reflect them self. These blank posters needed to be in spaces where people had the time to let their curiosity get the better of them. I wanted no hint of authority or instruction .I hoped that each response would depict human behaviour in each location.
The set up would consist of a simple;A1 poster ,black  marker, and string attached to each location with white duck. No frills.
I left each poster up for 3 nights and 3 days, However, some were perhaps taken hostage by the unforgiving Scottish weather.
Each day I visited the posters and documented any new markings made.

Levi Van Veluw

‘Light', Van Veluw covered his head with strokes of light generating foil. Photographed in total darkness, the highly radiant bright blue light produced by this material, allow it to stand out as an autonomous object-In love with these and the fact that the idea is very simple and realistic

Saatchi- show case 2011

This year's Showcase involved a multidisciplinary, interactive live performance featuring the atomising talent of Warp Records' Jamie Lidell and Clark.
This is so visually impacting and futuristic

The Bloomber commission

"Sculptor and writer Josiah McElheny transforms the Gallery into a hall of mirrors. Seven large-scale, mirrored sculptures are arranged as multiple reflective screens for displaying reconfigured abstract films. Chosen by a group of invited collaborators and programmed to change throughout the year, the sculptures refract the projections and reflect the viewer within the work, saturating the gallery in images and light"

our future is automated

Our future is automated.
As a society we have most definitely neglected the one of most important aspect of humanity .We have subconsciously become a cult a cult of underlying assumptions. Our choices are portrayed as freedom but the paths have already been mapped out. Our lives/choices are predictable .95% of humans act as sheep, we know this well from crowd analysis and the London riots of 2011.Even careers and relationships become routine. Our society needs shaken-up the world needs fun and inspirational motives to create true individuality.

Sketch book detail

project diary week five

After my folding studies were collected I projected the images onto a model .Due to the detail of the the folds being lost I was eager to explore a new method of translating the paper folds into my collection by carefully documenting every shape and exploring how each shape unfolded. Almost creating the pattern for my outfits. One shape pattern cutting is something I will explore by laser cutting.

The second half of this public experiment developed mainly squares. And these were people who were tidy, organised and in no way impulsive.
The people who invented more folds in they’re squares tended to have some artistic ability they responded to the paper as a challenge or test on their artistic flare.
Many of the subjects clothing choices reflected the way in which they folded the paper.Whether it be a a single brand name or a particular  way/neatness in the way they dressed.
Patter experiment : using the public -
I asked member of the public to fold pieces of A4 paper  and answer a series of questions about them self. This first group we’re not tidy or organised but were generally confident and artistic in some way

Reshaping the mind

“A computer is a digital machine which operates on the basis of bits of information which it can manipulate with high levels of reproducibility .The brain relies on analogue processing of disparate inputs, and the interactions of the neuronal networks could have more in common with the chaotic emergent-alogorithms of human society than the percise programs of computers”

Christopher rae burn

I was accepted on a placement he however I was already on a placement by the time the company got back to me.I love the way in which these rain coats have been photographed! The light box makes the process look like an x-ray-

I thought of Christopher Raeburn as soon as I researched into Blade runner -PVC jacket could be transformed into something more adventurous and shapely .
